School catalogs are available in the Max Snyder Building (Building 50) or at the SCC Bookstore (located in the Lair, Building 6).

Career, Community and Employment Services: SCC's Veterans Affairs office is located in this area. Employment and occupation information, scholarship information, along with interest testing (no fee required for currently enrolled students) is available. This center, (located in the Lair) is an excellent source of information for those who may have difficulty in choosing a program of study. State Vocational Rehabilitation (DSHS), Worker Retraining, WorkFirst, and WorkSource representatives are also located in this valuable student center. Appointments may be made by calling 533-7249.

Disability Support Services: If you are hearing impaired or have a disability that requires additional accommodations, please contact SCC's Disability Support Services at 533-8872.

Scholarships: You may qualify for a scholarship. To obtain more information regarding individual scholarship opportunities make an appointment by calling the Community Career and Employment Services at 533-8009. You may also access military.com for veteran specific scholarships.

Student Services: Obtain and complete a school application before you return to the Veterans Office with your veterans application. Please make sure you fill in the section regarding veteran status.

Note: Official transcripts from all colleges previously attended are required by the VA.  SCC is allowed to report only three quarters of attendance until prior transcripts are received.  Postcards for requesting transcripts from all previous schools attended may be obtained from Admissions/Registration Department.

Testing: An assessment test (placement test) may be required if you wish to enroll at SCC. You will not be required to take an assessment test if you have taken SCC's ASSET or COMPASS test within the last three years or have successfully completed college level 101 Algebra and English 101 courses. If you must take the assessment test be prepared to pay a $10 testing fee. Check with the testing department for further information by calling 533-7074.

Registration: You will not be allowed to register until you have taken SCC's placement test (see testing information above). A registration appointment will then be assigned to you. It is during this registration appointment that you will select your classes and be responsible for paying the required tuition and fees.

Note: Prior to registration you should see a counselor to assist you in selecting classes appropriate to your program and to evaluate previous credits earned.  It is important you let your counselor know that you are a veteran as the VA will pay benefits solely for classes that are required for graduation.

IMPORTANT: If you are a liberal arts student and have had prior college see the veteran's coordinator after your counseling appointment. There may be some restrictions regarding the courses you wish to take.
